Does Meghan Markle really have a "bucket list" of British sites to visit and foods to eat? That's what's being claimed in a new tabloid report. Gossip Cop looked into the story and we're told it's "made-up."
According to Heat, the former "Suits" actress is "keen to explore her adopted country a little better" when she's not attending to royal duties. A so-called "source" tells the publication, "Meghan has created a bucket list of places she wants to visit and exceedingly British things she'd like to try." The supposed tipster adds, "She is very much a free spirit and can't wait to go exploring with Harry. They are trying to keep it low-key, but it's not exactly going to be easy for them to go incognito."
The outlet's alleged "insider" goes on to maintain that Prince Harry has "promised" to take his bride-to-be "for a spin on the London Eye." He's also purportedly assured Markle he'll treat her to "curry on London's Brick Lane," "fish and chips" and "roast beef with Yorkshire pudding." The tabloid further contends Markle's "friends" have said she wants to "do a road trip around iconic places like Stonehenge, Shakespeare's birthplace, and the White Cliffs of Dover." Additionally, because she was an actress, reports the outlet, Markle wants to visit "filming locations such as the Harry Potter castle in Alnwick, Highelere Castle where 'Downtown Abbey' was filmed, and Sherwood Forest."
But that's not all. The magazine's "source" claims, "Meghan's been watching 'Eastenders,' 'Corrie' and 'Celebrity Big Brother.' She's also been trying to pick up the accent. She's been copying Harry and has even learnt a few of his favorite swear words."
Really? Part of her assimilation includes learning British curses? Of course, much of what the tabloid alleges is on Markle's "bucket list" is also on TripAdvisor and basic online searches for things like British film locations and sightseeing musts in England. Still, Gossip Cop looked into the report, and a source close to the situation confirmed on the condition of anonymity that the magazine's story is completely "made-up."
It should be noted, the former Hollywood star has traveled to England on numerous occasions for both personal and professional reasons. Famously, Markle was photographed outside of Buckingham Palace as a 15-year-old in 1996. She's already seen and experienced much of what the U.K. has to offer. What's more, it's near impossible at this juncture to believe a legitimate "source" in Markle's trusted inner circle is yapping to a tabloid about her supposed "British bucket list." Basically, the story is, as the future royal has already learned, utter "rubbish."
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
