Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are not "already married," despite an entirely made-up report. Gossip Cop can correct this fabricated claim. We're told it's not true.
As Gossip Cop reported, Markle is the cover subject of October's Vanity Fair, and in the accompanying article the "Suits" actress candidly talks about her relationship with the redheaded royal. "We're two people who are really happy and in love," Markle says of her romance with Prince Harry, adding, "Personally, I love a great love story." New Idea, however, has taken this piece of genuine news and twisted it into fake news. Without noting sources or furnishing proof, the Australian tabloid simply claims the couple tied the knot earlier this summer in a "secret royal ceremony" near the Queen's private residence in Balmoral, Scotland.
The outlet, which routinely publishes bogus stories about the royal family, further purports Markle and Prince Harry exchanged vows in an "intimate service at Crathie Kirk on July 29 in front of their immediate families." "[The wedding has] been described as the biggest royal secret in history," concludes the unreliable site. Apparently, it was so secret that not even Prince Harry or Markle know they got married.
Anyway, Gossip Cop was naturally skeptical that New Idea would have such an exclusive scoop, so we investigated the claim. Not surprisingly, we learned the entire story is nothing more than a fabrication and the supposed events detailed in the report never happened. Gossip Cop is exclusively told by a palace insider that the magazine's article is simply "not true."
Oddly, this isn't the first time Gossip Cop has busted an outlet for inaccurately reporting about the couple's marriage plans. In May, we corrected In Touch when it falsely announced Prince Harry and Markle had set a wedding date, but of course, there has been no such ceremony in the works. Humorously, we half-expect New Idea to brag when Markle and Prince Harry tie the knot that they were the "first" to report about the wedding.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
