Matthew Perry’s friends aren’t worried about him relapsing on drugs on alcohol, despite a completely inaccurate report in one of this week’s new tabloids. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this fake news.

According to the National Enquirer, the comedic actor has been down in the dumps lately and it’s taking a toll on both his mental and physical health. A supposed “pal” of Perry’s tells the magazine, “Matt’s taken a couple of really hard hits over the past few years, and he’s cracking under the pressure. He’s not taking care of himself, and he’s letting himself go. He’s woefully out of shape.”

The actor has been open about being in recovery for several years, but the magazine’s supposed “source” claims members of his inner circle fear he’s headed for a relapse. “Matt insists he’s still clean and sober, but he has alienated a lot of his oldest pals over the past year – something he did at the height of his addiction issues,” says the questionable insider. “The fear is that he could succumb to temptation when he’s at his lowest.”

But Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Perry, who exclusively assures us the actor is perfectly healthy and his friends aren’t concerned his sobriety is at risk. This is simply a non-issue. In fact, Gossip Cop already busted the Enquirer last year when it concocted a similarly bogus report about Perry’s friends worrying he’d relapse. There was no truth to the allegation then, and it isn’t any more accurate now.

Gossip Cop also previously corrected the tabloid after it wrongly reported Perry suffered a stroke. In addition to that nonsense, we busted the unreliable magazine for falsely claiming Perry was caught in a love triangle with Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx. This latest article about the actor’s alleged health woes is equally bogus.
