Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana Barroso, are NOT in the midst of a “marriage meltdown,” despite a fabricated tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this claim. We’re told it’s “silly.”

According to Star, Damon and his wife of more than 10 years, with whom he shares four daughters, have been having relationship problems due to the actor’s alleged temper. A so-called “source” tells the tabloid, “Matt’s grumpy all the time. People are starting to avoid him because of the way he talks to them.” The magazine’s dubious insider goes on to claim that Damon’s supposed moodiness is a result of the stress from his upcoming Jason Bourne sequel.

“He’s put himself under so much pressure to make this a blockbuster that he’s driving his wife and his business team crazy,” adds the outlet’s seemingly phony source, who further alleges that the actor was so dedicated to getting into shape for the role of the super spy that he “banned pasta from the house and was dictating what the rest of the family could eat as well.”

Naturally, the magazine drags Damon’s best friend Ben Affleck into its tall tale, falsely alleging that the actor’s split from Jennifer Garner has negatively impacted his own relationship with wife Luciana. “Ben acts like a frat boy around Matt, which she finds obnoxious,” says the publication’s questionable source, “and she knows his history as a ladies’ man. She was worried his bad influence will rub off on Matt.”

The tabloid’s supposed insider then goes on to say that Barroso and Damon got into “some blowout fights” after she confronted him about Affleck, adding, “Luciana felt like her husband was shutting her out, and her trust in him started to plummet.” But Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Damon, who exclusively assures us the outlet’s marital problems claim is “silly” and simply untrue.

In fact, Star is the same frequently unreliable tabloid that Gossip Cop recently busted for a bogus cover story claiming that Damon and his wife were in the midst of a “$140 million divorce.” Obviously, there was no truth to that report, and the same goes for the magazine’s latest piece of fiction about the happily married couple.
