Matt Damon and Alicia Vikander are NOT in a secret romance, despite a bogus tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust this claim. We’re told it’s “a lie.”

According to Star, Damon took his Jason Bourne co-star out to dinner earlier this month at a sushi restaurant in Sydney before the Australian premiere of their new film. A so-called “source” tells the tabloid, “People are starting to wonder if Matt and Alicia might be more than co-stars. There are little hints that something else is going on.”

Of course, Damon has been married to Luciana Barroso for more than 10 years and the couple has four daughters together, while Vikander has been dating Michael Fassbender for two years. But that doesn’t stop the outlet’s supposed insider from saying that the Jason Bourne co-stars “were acting a lot cozier than when their significant others are around. Matt certainly wasn’t acting like a married man that night.”

The magazine then quotes a seemingly fabricated “spy” as saying that Damon and Vikander “were inseparable” at the film’s premiere, adding, “Afterward, there was a dinner, as per usual. But I heard Matt and Alicia walked in holding hands!” The “spy” heard wrong. Gossip Cop checked in with an actual source close to Vikander, who tells us that she and Damon never even had dinner together in Australia. And suffice to say, there’s absolutely nothing romantic going on between the two. We’re exclusively assured that the tabloid’s entire story is “a lie.”

Of course, we’re not particularly surprised by the magazine’s tall tale. Gossip Cop just recently busted Star for falsely alleging that Damon and his wife were in the midst of a “marriage meltdown.” We also debunked the tabloid’s August 2015 claim that Vikander and Fassbender were “on the rocks,” and obviously the two are still very much together. This latest report is just more lies from the often unreliable publication.
