Maroon 5 received the Decade Award at the 2017 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday. Check out the video below!

Following a tribute led by Judd Apatow, Levine and James Valentine took the stage together. The frontman said, “Thank you guys. I’m not gonna lie: I’m 38 years old. We look really good for 38. We’re not teens, but the fact that teenagers, all of you, can appreciate what we do after all this time… It’s so crazy that we’re still doing this.” Levine then scared by fans by announcing a final album. “I’m joking. We are never gonna go away,” he promised.

Teen Choice introduced the Decade Award honor last year, with Justin Timberlake as the inaugural Decade Award recipient. It was announced earlier this month that Maroon 5 would be the second honoree to earn the special recognition. Organizers said the band was chosen to celebrate the group’s “evolution over the past 10 years.” Maroon 5 as a music act actually dates back to 1994, when Adam Levine and his pals were known as Kara’s Flowers.

Their debut album as Maroon 5, Songs About Jane, came out in 2002, and led to a Grammy win for Best New Artist in 2005. Their fifth album, appropriately titled V, was released in 2014. The group supported the record with the “Maroon V Tour,” which ran for two years and didn’t end until March 2017. Since then, Levine has been embracing first-time fatherhood (he and wife Behati Prinsloo welcomed daughter Dusty Rose nearly a year ago), while remaining committed to his duties as a coach of “The Voice.” He’ll be back this fall for the NBC music competition’s 13th season, which is set to premiere next month.

Maroon 5 won its first Teen Choice awards in 2004, taking home Choice Breakout Artist and Choice Rock Track for “This Love.” Wins followed in 2012 and 2013 for Choice Break-Up Song (“Payphone) and Summer Music Star: Group, respectively. Levine also previously won Choice TV: Reality Personality – Male in 2014 for his work on “The Voice.” He was also nominated in that category twice before, in 2011 and 2013. For this year’s ceremony, he and the band earned nominations for Choice Music Group and Choice Pop Song, the latter for “Don’t Wanna Know” with Kendrick Lamar.
