Did Mark Wahlberg really tease Mel Gibson about his weight and offer to become his personal trainer while filming Daddy’s Home 2? That’s the claim in one of this week’s new tabloids, but Gossip Cop has exclusively learned the truth.

The Braveheart star plays Wahlberg’s father in the upcoming comedy sequel, but according to OK!, it’s Wahlberg who gave the older actor a lecturing on set. “Mark is teasing Mel mercilessly about his spare tire,” a supposed “source” tells the magazine. “Mel blames it on how hectic his home life has been since becoming a dad for the ninth time earlier this year, but Mark isn’t buying that excuse.”

The outlet’s dubious insider goes on to claim Wahlberg has “warned Mel that once they finish the movie, he’s going to kick his butt back into shape,” and now Gibson “just might take Mark up on that personal training offer.” It should be noted, Daddy’s Home 2 has already wrapped filming and the movie’s first trailer has been released, so the magazine’s article is outdated.

Regardless, Gossip Cop checked in with a reliable source close to Gibson, who exclusively assures us his younger co-star never mocked him for being overweight, and the tabloid’s account is simply “false.” In fact, Gossip Cop busted a bogus story regarding the actor’s physique just last week.

OK!’s sister publication, the National Enquirer, wrongly reported Gibson was headed to fat camp, but we exclusively debunked the story. Gossip Cop also previously called out the magazine’s sister outlet, Star, for falsely claiming Gibson was “avoiding daddy duty” for his new baby. This latest article is simply more fake news.
