Did Mariah Carey really install skinny mirrors in her home? That’s the absurd claim in one of this week’s new tabloids, which says the singer threw out all of her old mirrors and got new ones that make her look thinner. Gossip Cop, however, can set the record straight.

An article in the latest issue of In Touch alleges Carey has become very self-conscious about her weight lately, so she purchased slimming mirrors that take 20 pounds off one’s reflection. A so-called “source” tells the magazine, “She loves them and spends hours looking at [herself]. Mariah doesn’t want to be reminded of her weight gain.”

The outlet’s dubious insider goes on to say the singer “has been in a much better mood” since fitting her home with special mirrors, but she’s still “very much in denial about her weight right now.” Despite how unlikely this all sounds, Gossip Cop still checked in with a rep for Carey, who dismissed the tabloid’s story as both “ridiculous” and “false.” This mean-spirited report was seemingly concocted because some people on social media criticized the singer for looking heavier during her final performance at Caesar’s Palace in July, but there’s no truth to it.

Unfortunately, we’re not too surprised by In Touch’s fabricated article, as the publication frequently targets the singer with bogus reports. Gossip Cop recently called out the magazine for wrongly reporting Carey acted like a “diva” at Disneyland by demanding the theme park treat her like a “princess.” A rep for the singer assured us at the time that the story was completely made-up. Gossip Cop also busted the outlet for falsely claiming Carey almost knock over a cake while drinking at a party. The magazine’s account of events, however, simply never happened. This latest report about the singer’s supposed skinny mirrors is equally untrue.
