Maria Menounos discussed her brain tumor and surgery recovery on Wednesday’s “Today” show. Watch the video below.

As Gossip Cop reported, in July Menounos revealed she underwent surgery for a brain tumor after symptoms and an MRI revealed a meningioma the size of a golf ball. The operation, which took place in early June, came as her own mom battled stage four brain cancer. Fortunately, Menounos’ tumor was not malignant, but it has been a harrowing journey all the same.

Now nearly three months after the procedure, she appeared live on “Today” to update fans on her condition. “We’re both doing well,” the TV personality said of herself and her mom, revealing they just had a “one year celebration of life party” to mark her mother’s diagnosis. “It’s a process, and right now she’s stable and doing well, but there are definitely a lot of things that go with it. It’s an emotional ride, Savannah,” Menounos told Savannah Guthrie.

Menounos said she herself is “getting better and better” each week. “I still have a hard time chewing on my right side, because it was on my right side, and so it affected the trigeminal nerve, which controls all of your face,” she revealed, adding, “Little things. I can get dizzy… But overall I feel so lucky to be functioning and almost normal, and to not have cancer.”

The former “E! News” host admitted she’s “calmer” these days and “sees things so differently now.” “I think being still is so important,” she said, noting, “I’ve been able to look back at everything, and I did see this as a gift. I did shift everything into positives throughout this whole journey.” Menounos’ boyfriend of 19 years, Kevin Undergaro, was watching as she spoke, and she amusingly confessed she was worried about an on-set wedding, since he famously surprised her with a proposal during “The Howard Stern Show” last year.

“I had that feeling all of a sudden. I’m like, ‘Is this happening again?'” she exclaimed. In all seriousness, though, she praised her fiancé for being “unbelievable” through this trying time. “The man has not left my side. Not only is he taking care of me, he’s helping me take care of my mom and my dad, you know, keeping us all strong,” the former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant said. Check out the video below.
