Margot Robbie is not in talks to co-star alongside Jared Leto in the upcoming biopic about Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, despite a completely inaccurate new report. The article claims the actress is considering going nude for a role as one of the late mogul’s former wives, but Gossip Cop is told the casting rumor is false.

As Gossip Cop reported, Leto is attached to play Hefner in a big-screen biopic directed by Brett Ratner. The Mirror is now claiming the actor is trying to persuade his Suicide Squad co-star Robbie to sign on for a role in the film. The actress reportedly turned down an offer to pose naked in the magazine back in 2014, but a supposed “insider” tells the tabloid “she’s considering” shedding her clothes in the movie for a role as a Playboy bunny.

The outlet’s questionable source says, “Jared is working on the movie with his buddy Brett and they’re really pushing for Margot to have a major role. She’s perfect for a part and he’s not going to give up until she accepts.” Hefner had been married three times, with two of his wives being Playboy playmates, but the newspaper fails to mention which one Robbie would play.

Of course, the Hollywood trades typically get these sort of casting scoops, so we were hesitant to believe the British tabloid scored the exclusive. Our doubts were confirmed after checking in with a source close to Robbie, who exclusively assures us “there’s no truth” to the outlet’s report. The actress simply isn’t in discussions to join the Playboy biopic.

In fact, this isn’t the first time The Mirror has reported fake casting news. Earlier this year, Gossip Cop called out the tabloid for falsely claiming Paris Jackson is playing Madonna in a biopic about the singer’s life. That story was entirely untrue, and the same goes for this latest one.
