Margot Robbie was not hiding a baby bump in New York City last week, despite a false tabloid report. The actress isn't pregnant. Gossip Cop can debunk the claim otherwise.
"Oh, Baby! Margot's Preggo!" reads a ridiculous headline in the latest issue of NW. The accompanying article says the actress had "something to hide" when she was spotted stepping out in New York wearing an oversized dress. A supposed source tells the outlet, "Margot keeps saying she's in no rush to have kids, but the truth of the matter is, she can't wait to be a mom. Everyone's convinced she's already got a bun in the oven."
The anonymous tipster adds, "Something is definitely up with her. Someone mentioned kids the other day and she got really coy. Not to mention she's off the booze. Margot is never one to turn down a glass of wine - ever!" The unidentified insider has no proof to back up any of this.
There's a whole lot of evidence, however, to refute the tabloid's premise. For starters, Robbie is currently shooting The Suicide Squad, which requires her to do a strenuous amount of stunt work. The actress also has several other projects in development, including the upcoming Barbie movie, which is expected to begin filming soon. Gossip Cop suspects Robbie won't be playing a pregnant Barbie.
The tabloid's story is based solely on the fact that Robbie wore a dress that wasn't skin-tight while walking around New York. On Sunday night, however, Robbie wore a pantsuit showing off her midsection to the Los Angeles premiere of Bombshell. There was certainly no sign of a "baby bump" and she clearly has noting to "hide." Still, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the actress, who confirms she's not pregnant. Robbie has admitted in interviews that she's eager to start a family with husband Tom Ackerley, but the magazine is jumping the gun here.
Of course, this wouldn't be the first time the gossip media has tried to prematurely impregnate the actress. In May, Gossip Cop busted Woman's Day for falsely claiming Robbie and Ackerley went on a "babymoon" to celebrate her supposed pregnancy. In November 2018, OK! Australia wrongly reported Robbie was pregnant with her first child. And in July 2018, RadarOnline insisted Robbie was pregnant. By her own admission, the actress plans to have a child one day, possibly even soon. But reporting news before it happens doesn't make it accurate.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
