Are Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd having marriage problems? A new report claims their union is already on "shaky ground" after just six months. Gossip Cop looked into the story, and now we can exclusively bust it.

As Gossip Cop reported, Chmerkovskiy and Murgatroyd married last July and welcomed their son Shai almost exactly a year ago. They've continued to work together on "Dancing with the Stars," even having a friendly rivalry last season when they were paired up with spouses Nick and Vanessa Lachey. But now In Touch claims the couple's marriage is being torpedoed by "nonstop fighting and jealousy."

They've actually "been fighting for months," a so-called "source" alleges to the tabloid, putting the "blame" on Chmerkovskiy. "He always seems to be on the prowl for women, despite being married," contends the supposed snitch, who alleges that mere "weeks" after tying the knot, Chmerkovskiy and his brother Val were overheard at a Beverly Hills dinner "talking about hot women and sizing them up." Asserts the gossip magazine's purported tipster, "They have no shame. It seemed like they loved the idea of stealing women away from other men."

What's odd is that if the publication really has an insightful "source" and this was such a scandalous incident, why is it only being reported months after it supposedly went down? No recent examples of alleged misbehavior are given. Rather, the tabloid's questionable insider just goes on to talk generally about Murgatroyd getting "upset" and "very jealous" over her husband allegedly flirting "like crazy" with other women. "At this point, many of their friends think their marriage won't last," claims the "source."

Yet while the magazine asserts Murgatroyd "can't take it anymore" and that "those close to the couple aren't sure how much longer she'll put up with his behavior," the outlet fails to mention that she and Chmerkovskiy are heading out on a new dance tour together. They'll be on the road from March through May for more than 50 shows together. Clearly Murgatroyd isn't planning on abandoning the relationship anytime soon.

In addition, she and Chmerkovskiy just took a trip to her native Australia for Christmas, and last month Muragtroyd posted a loving Instagram tribute in honor of their engagement anniversary. Now a rep for the couple exclusively tells Gossip Cop the In Touch story is "false," adding, "They are very happily married and share a beautiful life together." It's too bad the tabloid is claiming otherwise.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
