Maksim Chmerkovskiy Vanessa Lachey Voted Off DWTS

Maksim Chmerkovskiy will return to the “Dancing with the Stars” ballroom on Monday, one week after he sat out of the competition due to a conflict with partner Vanessa Lachey. Now a report claims he actually hopes he and Lachey are the next couple voted off the show. Gossip Cop, however, can exclusively refute the story.

As Gossip Cop reported, drama between the pair erupted last week as Chmerkovskiy’s apparent feud with Lachey led him to skip the series’ weekly live broadcast. Host Tom Bergeon said the pro was absent for personal reasons, but it quickly emerged that he and Lachey weren’t getting along behind the scenes. Chmerkovskiy tweeted an apology, and now he is expected to be back on the dance floor on Monday night’s installment.

But in a purported “exclusive,” a headline from Naughty Gossip announces, “Maks Chmerkovskiy Hopes Vanessa Lachey Gets VOTED OFF ‘Dancing With the Stars.'” The site contends that although the pair were “seen hugging it out while leaving a ‘Dancing With the Stars’ rehearsal on Saturday,” he “wants her voted off.” So-called “sources” are quoted as saying, “They both hate each other and he is done. He wants voted off the show and hopes that all this attention will not get her more votes. She has a very small fan base and he hopes his fans DO NOT vote for him. He wants this to end. ASAP. She is a monster.”

How or why is Lachey a “monster”? The blog’s “sources” never say. But the webloid wants readers to accept the far-fetched notion that simply because she and Chmerkovskiy “have not been seeing eye to eye,” he is willing to give up a paycheck and a chance at furthering his “Dancing with the Stars” record. Though he has a family to support and Lachey has been one of the season’s leading scorers, fans are supposed to believe he rather end his shot at the Mirror Ball and miss out on weeks of additional pay. That seems a bit extreme.

Regardless of whether or not it was appropriate for Chmerkovskiy to back out of the competition last week, Gossip Cop is assured he remains committed to the show going forward. And while, due to the pressure of the program, his dynamic with Lachey is in a state of flux, he is not actively campaigning against his own future on the show. A rep for Chmerkovskiy tells us exclusively, “Maks is a professional and ‘Dancing with the Stars’ is his job. He wants nothing more than to continue in this competition with Vanessa and he’s looking forward to going all the way to the finals with Vanessa.” However the duo’s journey progresses, Gossip Cop will have coverage Monday night and in the weeks to come.
