Is Madonna really playing favorites when it comes to her kids’ potential careers? One of this week’s new tabloids says the singer wants to turn youngest son David into a soccer star, but won’t support older son Rocco‘s aspirations to become a DJ. Gossip Cop, however, has exclusively learned the truth.
According to an article in the latest issue of Star, 17-year-old Rocco has expressed interest in embarking on a music career, but his mom isn’t enthusiastic about the idea. A so-called “source” tells the magazine, “Rocco wants to be a DJ. He is so passionate about music and you’d think Madonna – a pop star – would realize this is a great way to bond with him. But she says it’s a waste of time and not a real career.”
The outlet’s dubious insider goes on to say Madonna is instead focused on making 11-year-old David, who she adopted from the African country Malawi, into a professional soccer player. “She thinks David can be the next David Beckham and is pouring all her time and money into him,” says the questionable source. “To Rocco, it feels like his mom would rather brag about having a pro athlete for a son than ‘just’ a DJ.”
But Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the singer, who exclusively assures us the tabloid’s report is entirely “false.” Madonna doesn’t favor any one of her six children over another, nor is she supporting David and ignoring Rocco. This is simply a non-story designed to create nonexistent drama. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Gossip Cop has had to debunk a phony story concerning the singer’s relationship with her kids.
Gossip Cop recently called out Star for falsely claiming Madonna’s adopted twin daughters are being raised by their nanny instead of her. We also busted the tabloid’s sister publication, the National Enquirer, for making up a story about Madonna letting kids “starve” at her daughter Mercy’s birthday party. These latest accusations about the singer’s parenting skills are equally unfounded.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
