Live Kelly Ryan Ratings Drop

“Live with Kelly and Ryan” made a strong debut when Ryan Seacrest joined Kelly Ripa on the talk show last month, but the ratings naturally dipped in its second week. A new report now claims that ABC executives are worried about the drop in viewership, but Gossip Cop can exclusively clear up the situation.

A supposed “source” tells OK!, “They can’t afford to lose ground in the ratings. Everybody’s scrambling to figure out what the problem is.” The tabloid then goes on to recycle the same old narrative about alleged problems backstage between Ripa and Seacrest, but Gossip Cop has repeatedly debunked all these rumors of on-set tension. With this latest bogus piece, the magazine has now also skewed the scenario regarding the show’s ratings.

There was major buzz when Seacrest joined “Live” as a permanent co-host last month, which resulted in the show hitting a nine-week high in ratings. A show’s inaugural week is almost always bigger than its second week, so the dip in ratings was both normal and expected. Regardless, Gossip Cop is assured by ABC insiders that everyone at the network is satisfied with the recent success of the talk show.

Unfortunately, Gossip Cop has had to correct numerous bogus stories surrounding “Live” since Seacrest joined the show last month. We recently busted OK!’s sister outlet, RadarOnline, for falsely claiming that Ripa was worried about Seacrest quitting to host the “American Idol” revival instead. We also corrected the site for wrongly reporting that Ripa was against hiring Seacrest. This latest article about the morning talk show is equally untrue.
