Liam Payne thanked his One Direction bandmates, including former member Zayn Malik, on the group’s fifth anniversary on Thursday.

“Wowwwww 5 years 5 boys what an amazing journey I couldn’t thank you all ever enough and thank you Louis Niall Harry and zayn for everything,” tweeted Payne. He went on to express, “Thanks for all the memories boys I love you all.” An appreciative Malik retweeted Payne’s message, along with the message, “thanks bro!” which ended up trending on Twitter.

Earlier on Thursday, Styles marked the half-decade anniversary by similarly taking to Twitter to acknowledge the band’s crew and fans. He tweeted, “We thank you for everything that you do,” noting, “We wouldn’t be here without you. You did this and we thank you for having us.” Tomlinson also thanked their fans. He wrote on Twitter, “What an amazing 5 years it’s been!! You have been by far the most incredible fanbase and nothing you do goes unnoticed. We are so lucky to have you guys!”

For his part, Niall Horan tweeted about the “best fans on the planet.” He wrote “Thank you so much for what you’ve done for us so far, what an incredible journey it’s been, wish we could thank you all.” Payne went on to say, “5 years, literally sittin down talking about last night. Insane! I remember the day we were out together like it was yesterday!”

As Gossip Cop reported in May, when the remaining four band members were on the “Late Late Show With James Corden,” Payne admitted then when Malik quit in March, he was “angry at first, then disappointed.” But Payne quickly added there are now “no hard feelings.” And that has once again been evidenced by Payne’s anniversary tweets.
