Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus split less than a month ago, but that hasn't stop the tabloids from romantically linking the actor to a slew of famous women. Gossip Cop has busted a number of these false dating rumors. Here are a few recent examples.
Less than a week after he filed for divorce, NW published a report claiming Hemsworth was getting close to Jennifer Lawrence, his Hunger Games co-star. The magazine alleged Hemsworth and Lawerence were exchanging "secret texts and late-night phone calls," and that "there's always been a spark" between the pair. Curiously, the article made no mention of Lawrence's fiance, Cooke Maroney, whom she has been engaged to since February. Gossip Cop busted the story after an individual in Lawrence's camp assured us it was untrue.
Just a couple of days later, Star and In Touch both ran similar stories about Hemsworth dating his brother Chris' ex-girlfriend, Isabel Lucas, following his breakup with Cyrus. According to Star's supposed source, Lucas was "as low-key as you can get" and "the polar opposite of Miley." The In Touch article claimed the two had already attended a house party together. Both reports were false. There was no mention of when and how Hemsworth and Lucas got together, and the actress's rep went on the record to dispute the romance rumors. A source close to Hemsworth also assured Gossip Cop he wasn't dating his older brother's ex-girlfriend.
Just last week, New Idea concocted a story about a romance between Hemsworth and Katie Holmes. The bogus report was made up because both stars recently ended high-profile relationships. The publication claimed the actor's sister-in-law, Elsa Pataky, planned on introducing the two when Holmes travels to Australia in November to serve as the 2019 Ambassador for McHappy Day, a McDonald's charity event.
According to a suspicious source, Pataky and Holmes became friends at "star-studded Hollywood event," one which the tabloid conveniently failed to name specifically. The idea that this matchmaking would be planned months in advance was also ridiculous.
Still, the outlet maintained that Holmes and Hemsowrth would make a great couple because they both do a lot of charity work. Hundreds of other stars and millions of regular people do also. It's almost like saying they would be perfect together because both like to drink water and breathe air. Despite the ludicrous premise, Gossip Cop checked with a source close to the situation, who told us Pataky was not setting the two up. This was just another fake love connection designed to sell papers.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
