Lex Ishimoto stunned the judges during Monday’s “So You Think You Can Dance,” which was the last episode of auditions for season 14. Check out the video below!

“So You Think You Can Dance” held auditions in two cities for its new cycle: Los Angeles and New York. The West Coast auditions were featured on the season premiere last month, as well as on episode two. The East Coast had its turn in the spotlight for the third episode and now the fourth as well. There was an extra week between the two New York installments as “SYTYCD” was a repeat last week due to the July Fourth holiday. But seeing someone like Ishimoto try out was worth the wait.

He was the very last dancer featured on the broadcast, and after taking up dance at 7 years old, he told the camera, “It’s definitely a childhood dream, and I want to make that dream come true.” Of his preferred technique, Ishimoto admitted, “I try to infuse every single style of dance in one style.” And when asked what he’d be performing, he confessed to host Cat Deeley that he was going to “do something special for the judges that they might not know, but it’s improv.”

Ishimoto’s descriptions might have been vague, but they were fitting, as he proved to be one of a kind. After a standing ovation from the panel, Vanessa Hudgens exclaimed, “Wow! It was so good, my gosh. You are so strong! You were doing things I’ve never seen before… It looked impossible but you did the impossible today. Bravo!”

Nigel Lythgoe predicted, “You, sir, are going to be a star.” He further told Ishimoto, “I have never seen things you were doing there, ever. People are going to be copying those [moves]. That was absolutely amazing.” And Mary Murphy said, “I just love you. I love the way you move. You have a different way of doing things… You’re in the tenth dimension.” Watch the videos below!
