Leonardo DiCaprio and his girlfriend Camila Morrone are not headed for a split over Margot Robbie, despite a false tabloid report. Gossip Cop can debunk the claim. There's simply no truth to it.
According to the National Enquirer, DiCaprio was being overly flirtatious with Robbie during the promotional tour for their new movie Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, causing Morrone to rethink her supposed marriage plans with the actor. An anonymous insider tells the outlet, "Camila's a patient person, but she's sick of having to watch him swoon over Margot!"
The supposed source continues, "They were about to take the next step in their romance, but Leo keeps putting his foot in his mouth by telling the world how mesmerizing Margot is. Camila wants to be shown more respect. It doesn't help that Leo wants her to hang back in the shadows and look pretty."
The anonymous tipster concludes, "Leo would do well to stop drooling over Margot and appreciate what he's got right now, or he could drive Camila away for good!" concludes their source. The outlet's bogus piece is packed with incorrect information.
First off, there's no indication that DiCaprio and Morrone are headed for the altar. The couple has been dating for a few years, but there's no evidence of a proposal or engagement. It certainly wasn't true earlier this month when Gossip Cop busted the Enquirer's sister publication, OK!, for falsely claiming Brad Pitt helped DiCaprio propose to his girlfriend.
Secondly, there's no flirtations or wandering eyes when it comes to DiCaprio's relationship with his co-star. Gossip Cop debunked a phony story in May about Pitt and DiCaprio fighting over Robbie. These types of articles typically fail to mention that the actress is happily married to producer Tom Ackerley, and this latest story doesn't reference her husband either. Additionally, there hasn't been any evidence of anything but professional and friendly praise between DiCaprio and Robbie in all promotional interviews for their movie.
Finally, the claims about DiCaprio trying to keep Morrone "in the shadows" make no sense. The movie star is a private person and always has been. He only uses his Instagram page to promote his films, as well as political and charitable causes. However, DiCaprio does take Morrone to his movie premieres and the two are constantly spotted on date nights. Morrone is just as confident in their relationship, even posting a video to her Instagram story where she responded to criticism about the age gap between her and the actor.
Regardless, the tabloid's entire premise is coming from an untraceable "insider," but DiCaprio's spokesperson is going on the record to dismiss it as nonsense. Despite what the magazine's seemingly imaginary "insider" claims, a rep qualified to speak on the actor's behalf confirms his relationship isn't in trouble over Robbie.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
