Lena Dunham and Allison Williams are not feuding, despite a tabloid report falsely claiming the former “Girls” co-stars had a “falling out.” Gossip Cop can debunk the alleged drama. There’s simply no truth to it.

According to OK!, the two actresses have barely spoken to each other since their HBO series ended its run in 2017. A supposed source tells the magazine, “It’s not really a secret that they’ve gone on separate paths, but it’s strange the way Allison has distanced herself.” The alleged insider blames the supposed rift on Dunham and Williams’ “opposite personalities,” which “worked on screen, but in real life, not so much.”

The questionable source goes on to say that Williams is put off “by the way Lena can say anything offensive and not think twice about it.” The seemingly phony tipster adds, “Allison would recoil in shame if the said half the things Lena spews out on social media. She wishes Lena well, but she’s done with her drama.”

Here’s what’s really happening. Earlier this year, Andy Cohen asked Williams on his SiriusXM show how she feels about Dunham frequently having to apologize for controversial statements she makes. The actress explained that she and her co-star have “yin and yang” personalities and different approaches when it comes to speaking out on taboo subjects.

Williams, however, also made a point of noting that despite Dunham’s outspoken nature, “She’s so sweet and good and I just love her. I’ll always love her.” OK! Simply cherrypicked the part about the co-stars being opposites and attempted to create tension between them as a result.

Less than two weeks ago, Williams appeared on Cohen’s Bravo show “Watch What Happens Live” and spoke about the possibility of reuniting with Dunham for a “Girls” movie. “I still have a little thought every night before I go to bed hoping it will happen,” said the actress. “It would be so much fun. I miss them all so much. I would love that.” It’s clear there’s no bad blood between the former co-stars.

Still, Gossip Cop reached out to a source close to both actresses, who assures us the feud rumors are untrue and the two are “good pals.” It should be noted, we debunked a phony story about Dunham and Williams fighting back when “Girls” was still airing in 2013. The premise wasn’t true while the actresses filmed their TV series, and it’s no more accurate now that they’ve moved on to new projects.
