As Gossip Cop reported, The Lego Batman Movie focuses primarily on Will Arnett’s Batman, a breakout character from 2014’s The Lego Movie. The computer-animated sequel/spin-off had a strong opening last week, and now with kids on break for a holiday weekend, it has kept its box office throne with $34.2 million in ticket sales. And by President’s Day on Monday, the film will have surpassed the $100 million total-mark in just two weekends.

Also holding on to its position from last week was Fifty Shades Darker. The adaptation of the second book in E L James’ erotic series nabbed the number two spot again with $21 million this time around. Meanwhile, Matt Damon’s The Great Wall didn’t climb the box office chart all the way to the top. Rather, the China-set epic had to settle for a third-place opening with a debut only of $18 million.

John Wick 2 secured fourth place, thanks to $16.5 million in box office receipts. And the new comedy Fist Fight came in fifth with $12 million.

Rounding out the Top 10 was Hidden Figures in sixth with a haul of $7.1 million. It was followed right after in seventh by Split, which raked in $7 million. A Dog’s Purpose came in eighth with $5.6 million, while La La Land took ninth with $4.5 million. Just making into the last spot was A Cure For Well. It earned $4.2 million.
