Is LeAnn Rimes pregnant with Eddie Cibrian's baby? A tabloid claims the couple is "expecting at last." Unfortunately, fans shouldn't go buying gifts, as Gossip Cop has learned the story is not true.
OK! claims that after "years of struggling to conceive, sources are buzzing that the singer and the 'Take Two' actor are expecting." A so-called "insider" is quoted as saying, "The word is that LeAnn is around the three-month mark." As Gossip Cop readers know by now, the phrases "sources are buzzing" and "the word is" are used by gossip magazines when they don't have real insight. After all, a legitimate "insider" wouldn't have to rely on what "the word is." He or she would have firsthand knowledge and confirmation.
As for why the couple hasn't shared the purported news with the world, the unidentifiable "insider" contends, "They're keeping things very quiet and don't want to jinx anything by announcing this just yet. But if all goes to plan, it looks like LeAnn will be giving birth early next year." It's further alleged Rimes and Cibrian are "keeping the baby's gender a surprise until the very end."
The outlet's supposed source also claims the pregnancy is why Rimes and Cibrian's ex-wife, Brandi Glanville, "recently patched up" their feud. Claims the tipster, "These days, LeAnn is in such a peaceful place and wants to get rid of any bad vibes before a baby arrives." But the timing of this contention doesn't make sense.
Glanville said in April that their feud was "over." If Rimes is "around the three-month mark" in her alleged pregnancy, the women actually made up before the singer supposedly found out she was expecting. So one would have nothing to do with the other.
Additionally, there are no signs the former child star is pregnant. If Rimes is heading into her second trimester, as claimed, she should be beginning to show. But in photos Rimes posted on Instagram earlier this month from a concert, she's wearing a tight pair of jeans and her midsection is flat.
The only true aspect of this story is that she and Cibrian have talked in the past about possibly having a baby one day. But in late July, Rimes was wishy-washy on whether she really wants to have kids of her own. "Maybe one day. I mean, I love my stepkids and I get plenty on my plate with them. So, I'm cool at the moment," she told "Entertainment Tonight."
That doesn't sound like a woman who is currently pregnant. And while a spokesperson for Rimes did not respond to Gossip Cop's inquires, Cibrian's rep tells us, "Sadly it's untrue." The couple does not have a baby on the way. The publication doesn't have the best track record when it comes to reporting on the pair.
In 2016, we busted the magazine for claiming Rimes and Cibrian were "broke and divorcing." And in 2014, Rimes herself mocked the tabloids, including OK!, for peddling phony stories about their marriage. It seems the outlet's reporting hasn't improved.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
