Lauren Duski Voice Top 10 Video

Lauren Duski performed Wynonna Judd’s “Tell Me Why” on Monday’s “The Voice.” Check out the video below!

Duski, a country singer on Blake Shelton’s team, is one of the frontrunners on season 12 of “The Voice.” That may seem obvious given her genre and coach, but the aspiring star has the vocal chops to back up the hype. In fact, she was arguably last week’s most successful artist after making it all the way to number three on the iTunes singles chart with a cover of Billy Dean’s “Somewhere In My Broken Heart.”

For Top 10 night, could Duski replicate, or even improve, upon that success? Well, she already has Judd rooting for her, as the country icon tweeted to followers hours prior to the live broadcast, “Hey maybe you should watch @NBCTheVoice tonight #voicetop10.” Before Duski took the stage, viewers got a peek at this week’s rehearsals, where it was revealed Judd personally called the contestant and encouraged, “I want you to sing this song the way you interpret it” and make it her own.

Following the live performance, Gwen Stefani exclaimed, “Wow, Lauren, wow. You’re like a living country Barbie doll with the guitar.” She gave boyfriend Shelton props for the song choice, calling it “perfect” for Duski. The country superstar himself said, “My gosh, every time you get on the stage, I think you’re accepting the fact you can do this.” He even added, “I’m here to tell you, you’re the missing piece in country music right now.” Watch the video below!
