Lauren Duski Better Man Voice

Lauren Duski performed “Better Man” with Little Big Town on Tuesday’s season finale of “The Voice.” Check out the video below!

As Gossip Cop reported, Duski originally performed “Better Man” for the Battles, which aired back in March. At the time, she was paired up with team mate Brennley Brown to sing the song as a duet. But because it was a showdown, coach Blake Shelton could only keep one of them on his team. He named Duski the winner, and Gwen Stefani then stole Brown for her own team. Both aspiring stars continued to have success in the NBC competition, although Brown was eliminated on last week’s results show after the semifinal round.

Now on Monday, Duski gave three performances for part one of the season 12 finale. Her cover of Garth Brook’s “The Dance,” one of the most well-known songs in modern country music, charted third on the iTunes singles chart when voting closed midday Tuesday. Why wasn’t it number one? Well, that spot was held by Duski’s original song, “Deja Vu.”

She debuted the breakup track last night, performing it for the very first time as her would-be winner’s single. After the performance, Shelton told her, “Lauren, let me be the first to congratulate you on writing your first number one hit song.” He went on, “We’ve had some incredible moments on this show in 12 seasons. Some great artists. I don’t know if we’ve ever had someone come out and do a song that beautiful, that perfect.”

And Duski was the only one in the Top 4 to sing a self-penned song. Who knows? She could end up writing tracks for Little Big Town someday. After all, it was Taylor Swift who wrote “Better Man.” Gossip Cop will have video of the performance shortly. Check back soon.
