Lauren Duski had to prove why she should win “The Voice” during Monday’s finale, and she did it with a song she co-wrote. Check out the videos below!

As Gossip Cop has reported, Duski has been considered one of the frontrunners of season 12. She’s charted in the top 10 on the iTunes singles chart for the last three weeks of the NBC competition, giving her the coveted vote multiplier bonus. Going into the finals, she has the advantage of being the only country singer left in the competition, but she’s one of two artists remaining on Blake Shelton’s team.

For her last performances, Duski began with an iconic Garth Brooks song, “The Dance.” After the stirring rendition, Adam Levine told her, “Throughout the whole competition, it’s just been a joy and a pleasure to watch you… It’s getting boring how great you are. And I’m still mad you’re not on my team.” Shelton also admitted, “I can’t stop smiling right now.” Noting the importance of that track, he told his contestant, “Literally, you made it feel like I’m hearing it for the first time tonight… Country music fans, music fans, Lauren Duski is the one we’ve been waiting for all this time.”

Shelton then joined Duski to sing Hank Williams’ “There’s A Tear In My Beer” as a duet, and they received a standing ovation from Levine, Gwen Stefani and Alicia Keys. Duski’s third turn on the stage was with her own song, “Deju Vu.” She was the only contender to pen one of the four original songs performed. Following the moving performance, Shelton said, “Lauren, let me be the first to congratulate you on writing your first number one hit song.”

“We’ve had some incredible moments on this show in 12 seasons. Some great artists. I don’t know if we’ve ever had someone come out and do a song that beautiful, that perfect,” said the superstar. Watch the videos below, and stay tuned for the rest!
