Late Night Hosts Donald Trump Transgender Military Ban

Jimmy Fallon and some of the other late night hosts slammed Donald Trump’s transgender military ban on Wednesday’s shows. Watch the videos below of Fallon, Stephen Colbert, and James Corden mocking the president!

As Gossip Cop reported, Trump announced on Wednesday that transgender people will not be allowed to serve in the U.S. military. The president tweeted, “After consultation with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military.” Trump added, “Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail. Thank you.”

As Gossip Cop reported a number of celebrities reacted to Trump ban on transgender people in the military. And later at night, the talk show hosts also took the president to task for his out-of-the-blue decision. On the “Tonight Show,” for example, Fallon said, “Some big political news today. President Trump went on Twitter, and announced he’s banning transgender people from serving in the military. Trump said he understands this is a very sensitive issue, so he made sure to choose his emojis very carefully.” Fallon further cracked, “Actually, Trump says he’s banning transgender people from serving because of high medical costs. If he cares so much about high medical costs, maybe he should pass the healthcare bill.”

Meanwhile on the “Late Show,” Colbert commented, “I began my day today as I often begin my days, by checking Donald Trump’s Twitter feed. Just to see how far the crazy has spread. And today, I really think he’s off his meds, as he’s gone from crazy to cruel.” The late night host then broke out his uncanny Trump impression to read the president’s tweets, before simply stating, “F*ck you.”

And Corden hilariously mocked Trump’s transgender military ban in a song on the “Late Late Show.” In a parody of Nat King Cole’s “L-O-V-E,” Corden brilliantly sang, “L, he doesn’t care for lesbians. G, he thinks two men should just be friends. B, to his dumb knowledge, is just a phase in college. T, he finds confusing, so the army’s now refusing trans.” Watch the videos below!
