Lady Gaga and Christian Carino are planning an "over-the-top wedding," according to a report claiming they're engaged and want to marry twice. Gossip Cop investigated the story, and we can now reveal what we've learned.

"Six months after going public with agent Christian Carino, Lady Gaga is planning to walk down the aisle on two continents," contends Life & Style, which alleges Carino asked Gaga's father for his blessing during the July Fourth holiday. She was previously engaged to Taylor Kinney with plans for "intimate" nuptials, but now that she's "tying the knot" with Carino, it's a "whole different ball game," a so-called "insider" claims.

The tabloid's supposed source alleges, "At the moment, they're planning on getting married in Italy and Malibu." How would that work? The purported tipster maintains Gaga and Carino are "talking about eloping in an intimate ceremony in Italy" for a "traditional Catholic wedding," followed by a "huge, no-expense-spared party" in California. On the guest list listed by the gossip magazine are Bradley Cooper, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and Harry Styles.

"It's be the celebrity wedding of the year," the publication's alleged tipster asserts, even though it's never actually said when these events are supposedly taking place. "Leave it to Gaga to throw one of Hollywood's most lavish weddings ever." One day, that may be true. But that day is not on the immediate horizon.

No one with whom Gossip Cop spoke could confirm any wedding is in the works, let alone two. Nor could any of our contacts confirm an engagement. In fact, one even told us point-blank, "I never trust anything In Touch writes." That's understandable. It's the same tabloid that, all the way back in 2011, Gossip Cop busted for claiming Gaga was pregnant.

More recently, Gossip Cop called out the magazine's sister outlet Life & Style just last month when it claimed Gaga and Carino were "talking wedding already." In that version, the couple was scouting out the Hamptons as a location, something that isn't mentioned at all in this new story. "Gaga wants to be out in nature and near the water when she says 'I do,'" said that source. This subsequent article about two weddings says nothing about that.

Between the inconsistences and the inability of those close to Gaga to confirm any of these new details, Gossip Cop is left to conclude this new story is just as inaccurate as the last. She and Carino may decided to wed one day, but it seems highly unlikely the tabloids will be the first to learn the details.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
