Lady Gaga is one of the biggest pop stars in the world. As a result, she’s also one of the biggest tabloid targets. Here are five recent wrong rumors about the singer.

Last month, Gossip Cop called out The New York Post for wrongly reporting that Gaga wore a $1 million engagement ring to the London premiere of A Star Is Born. The singer certainly wore a flashy piece of jewelry to the event, but one needs to be engaged in order to wear an engagement ring. A rep for Gaga has told us on the record several times that her boyfriend Christian Carino hasn’t proposed. Meanwhile, outlets such as The Huffington Post also covered Gaga’s appearance on the red carpet, but made no mention of an engagement ring.

Gossip Cop also busted Star last month for making up a story about Jennifer Lawrence being furious at Bradley Cooper for casting Gaga in A Star Is Born instead of her. Not only did the actress’s spokesperson dismiss the article as nonsense, but Lawrence herself raved about A Star Is Born during an interview on Marc Maron’s “WTF” podcast earlier this year. The actress called the movie “phenomenal” and described Cooper as an “amazing director.”

In January, Gossip Cop corrected a RadarOnline article alleging that Gaga got a facelift prior to this year’s Grammy Awards. The claim was based on the opinion of a medical professional who never treated the singer, but simply analyzed photos of her posing on the red carpet. A spokesperson qualified to speak on Gaga’s behalf denied the story, and told us her look was crafted through contouring, a makeup technique that sculpts the face. As we also noted at the time, Gaga had been on her Joanne World Tour leading up to the Grammys, so it’s hard to imagine she had time to pencil in plastic surgery.

Also in January, Gossip Cop debunked a ridiculous Neon Nettle story about Gaga getting caught performing a satanic ritual at a hotel in London. The blog alleged that a hotel worker discovered a bathtub full of blood in the singer’s fancy suite. The tall tale was completely ridiculous. In fact, a photo Gaga posted on Twitter around the same time that the article was published indicated she wasn’t even in London. Regardless, if a bathtub full of blood had been found in the singer’s room, there would have been a police investigation and it would have been worldwide news. It never happened.

And finally, Gossip Cop busted OK! last November for falsely claiming that Gaga was teaming up with Pink to write an “anti-Madonna anthem.” It was said the two were penning lyrics that would expose the iconic singer as “superficial and a fraud.” When the report emerged last year, a rep for Gaga assured us it was simply “not true.” Here’s an example of the passage of time disproving a bogus tabloid story. It’s nearly a year later, and Gaga and Pink haven’t recorded any music together, let alone an “anti-Madonna anthem.”
