One of this week's tabloids claims Lady Gaga is pregnant and the baby belongs to either Bradley Cooper or her ex-fiance Christian Carino. The story is completely untrue. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
According to Star, the singer was overheard at an Oscars afterparty last month telling pals she's expecting a child, but wouldn't reveal the identity of the dad. "It makes sense that she would've only just found out," a supposed source tells the magazine. "Gaga was partying throughout most of awards season, but then she stopped. It didn't go unnoticed that she avoided booze at the Oscars."
From there, the alleged insider speculates that the reason Gaga ended her engagement to Carino last month is that she's in love with her A Star Is Born co-star, with whom she may be having an affair. "The first thing everyone will want to know is whose baby this is," adds the questionable tipster. "If there's any question at all, the belief is that Gaga and her most recent lovers will demand a DNA test."
The seemingly phony source further contends that Cooper's girlfriend Irina Shayk, with whom he shares a nearly 2-year-old daughter, is "furious about all the rumors surrounding Bradley and Gaga's relationship." The so-called "insider" adds, "You can bet that if she finds out Gaga is expecting, she'll be crushed." As for Cooper, he'll be willing to offer Gaga "emotional support... whether it's his baby or not," says the suspicious tipster. "He adores Gaga and would do whatever he can to help her out."
The tabloid's story is untrue on every level. First and foremost, Gaga isn't pregnant. Despite what the magazine's anonymous and untraceable "source" claims, the singer's spokesperson tells Gossip Cop on the record that she's not expecting a child. Meanwhile, a rep qualified to speak on Cooper's behalf dismisses the idea that he and his co-star have ever been intimate. The co-stars share a close friendship and bond, but their relationship has never been romantic.
During an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" last month, Gaga addressed the romance rumors surrounding her and Cooper. When the talk show host pointed out that their performance at the Oscars had people speculating they're truly in love, she responded, "That's what we wanted to you to see. This is a love song." Gaga added, "I'm an artist and I guess we did a good job. Fooled ya!"
Back in January, Gossip Cop busted Star for falsely claiming Gaga was stealing Cooper from Shayk. The actor and his girlfriend are still very much together. Shortly after that, we called out the magazine for making up a story about Gaga and Cooper teaming up on a Cleopatra movie. No such project is in the works. The unreliable tabloid clearly doesn't have solid sources close to either star. This latest nonsense about Gaga's imaginary pregnancy is yet another example.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
