One of this week's tabloids claims Lady Gaga is "dating" Jeremy Renner to get "revenge" on Bradley Cooper for not committing to her. The story is false on every level. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
According to NW, the singer is in love with her A Star Is Born co-star, who shares a nearly two-year-old daughter with his girlfriend Irina Shayk, but she's tired of waiting around for him. The outlet further contends that Gaga is trying to make Cooper jealous by hooking up with his "best mate" Renner. It's worth noting, Cooper and Renner both appeared in 2013's American Hustle, but there's nothing to indicate they're "best mates."
The magazine goes on to say that Gaga is using Renner as a "pawn in her love game," but she's really still pining for Cooper. There's zero truth to this storyline. For starters, the singer herself has said there's no validity to the tabloid rumors surrounding her and Cooper. Gaga addressed her relationship with her co-star during an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in February, and made it clear there's no off-screen romance between them.
Meanwhile, Gaga's rep has dismissed the most recent rumors that she's dating Renner. She and the Avengers star appear to be friendly, but they haven't been spotted on any dates together, and there are no photos suggesting the two are more than pals. E! News has similarly confirmed that Gaga and Renner are "not romantic."
Simply put, Gaga isn't in any sort of romance with Renner, let alone a "revenge romance." She's also not in love with Cooper and hoping he'll leave the mother of his child for her. The tabloid is attempting to create a crazy soap opera, but nothing about this saga is rooted in reality.
Gossip Cop busted NW last week for wrongly reporting that Cooper and Shayk secretly had a second child through a surrogate. This latest article makes no mention of that alleged development. If the actor and his girlfriend had truly just welcomed a baby, one would think that tidbit would be worth including in the magazine's new story.
As for Renner, Gossip Cop previously debunked a story about Gaga being torn between him and Cooper. Shortly after that, we shot down a bogus report claiming the singer pushed Cooper aside and turned her attention to Renner. There's simply no love triangle between Gaga and the two actors.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
