The tabloids have a habit of throwing Lady Gaga into fake feuds with other celebrities. Gossip Cop has debunked countless variations on this phony narrative. Here are five wrong rumors about the singer's nonexistent battles with other stars.
Last week, Gossip Cop busted Life & Style for falsely claiming Gaga got into a heated confrontation with Margot Robbie during the Screen Actors Guild Awards in January. The magazine alleged that the two stars have never liked each other, and it all stems from jealousy, red carpet snubs and competing over the same roles. According to the outlet, the singer and the actress got into a shouting match in the lobby of the awards ceremony, which resulted in Gaga's fiance, Christian Carino, having to pull them apart. Dozens of entertainment journalists covered the SAG Awards, and yet no one else witnessed the supposed altercation. That's because it never happened. Gaga's rep, speaking on her behalf, assured us on the record there are no issues between her and Robbie, and they certainly didn't have a public battle at an awards show.
Last month, Life & Style attempted to create problems between Gaga and Julia Roberts. The magazine claimed the actress walked up and hugged Bradley Cooper at the Critics' Choice Awards, but snubbed the singer who was standing next to him. The story was based on claims from an anonymous "source," but Gaga's own spokesperson told Gossip Cop the incident never occurred. And like the Robbie story above, not a single other outlet other than the tabloid saw the nonexistent snub.
Gossip Cop also called out OK! last month for claiming Jennifer Lawrence resented Gaga for buddying up with Bradley Cooper. Lawrence has co-starred in several films with the actor over the years, and according to the outlet, she was jealous of being "replaced" by Gaga following the success of A Star Is Born. In reality, Lawrence praised A Star Is Born on Marc Maron's "WTF" podcast last year, calling the movie "phenomenal." A source close to the situation also assured us Lawrence wasn't angry at Gaga, nor did she feel like the singer stole her friend and frequent co-star.
Last month, Gossip Cop busted Life & Style for making up a story about Gaga feuding with Gwen Stefani over who's Las Vegas residency would be more popular. The alleged battle between the two singers was baseless. In fact, Stefani gave a shoutout to Gaga on Twitter the night her residency launched, tweeting, "Sending @ladygaga good vibes tonight for her #Vegas opening night!" Additionally, a rep qualified to speak on behalf of both singers assured us there's no friction between them.
And finally, Gossip Cop busted In Touch last month for alleging that Gaga got into a fight with Cooper's girlfriend, Irina Shayk, at the Golden Globes. The tabloid claimed the two women clashed while vying for the actor's attention. The outlet didn't bother to mention that Gaga's fiance accompanied her to the Golden Globes, where the two were spotted cozying up to each other during the ceremony. Cooper and Shayk also showed a lot of PDA during the awards show. Meanwhile, a rep for Gaga assured us she wasn't feuding with Shayk over her A Star Is Born co-star.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
