One of this week's tabloids claims Lady Gaga is planning a $5 million wedding in Italy, during which she'll sing a duet with A Star Is Born co-star Bradley Cooper. The story is completely made-up. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
According to Life & Style, Gaga and her fiance, talent agent Christian Carino, are planning to exchange vows in an over-the-top destination wedding in Venice. A supposed source tells the magazine, "Gaga wants it to be extravagant, sophisticated, classy — and a little bit flamboyant! The theme will be Old Hollywood glamour."
The alleged insider says the guest list will be packed with celebrities, including A-listers such as Taylor Swift, Kate Hudson, Elton John, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen. "They'll also invite Christian's famous clients — Justin Bieber, Harry Styles, Miley Cyrus and Simon Cowell," adds the questionable tipster, who further contends that all of the partygoers "will be flown out in private jets!"
At the top of the guest list is Cooper, who will serve as Gaga's "man of honor, the equivalent of a best man," according to the magazine's suspicious source. The publication further maintains that during the reception, Gaga and Cooper will perform duets of their songs from A Star Is Born.
The tabloid purports to know a lot of details about this supposed wedding, but never bothers to mention when it's going to take place. The outlet's premise is also based on claims from an anonymous and untraceable "source," but Gossip Cop reached out to Gaga's spokesperson, who dismissed the story as fiction.
"Entertainment Tonight," a much more reliable celebrity news outlet than Life & Style, did report last week that Gaga wants to have a "hugely elaborate" wedding. However, the website also made a point of noting that the singer is currently focusing on her career. The outlet stated, "Gaga is incredibly elated about her engagement, but because of how busy she's been with [A Star Is Born], she can't even begin to think about a wedding."
Gaga and Carino will exchange vows at some point in the not-too-distant future, and seeing as both are of Italian heritage, it's entirely possible they'll get married in Italy. However, a rep qualified to speak on the singer's behalf confirms that the outlet has no insight into her wedding plans. The star-studded bash described by the magazine is tabloid fantasy.
It should be mentioned, Gossip Cop busted the publication in June 2017 for wrongly reporting that Gaga and Carino were getting married in the Hamptons. That clearly didn't happen. And just last month, the magazine made up a ridiculous story about Gaga and Cooper "falling for each other." This latest report is more fiction from the unreliable outlet.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
