Lady Gaga has been left "in tears" because her supposed romance with Bradley Cooper has fizzled out? That's the ridiculous premise in one of this week's tabloids. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
"Lady Gaga: The Worst Year Of My Life" reads a headline in the latest issue of Life & Style. The accompanying article says the singer has been struggling lately, and it's mostly due to Cooper allegedly breaking her heart. "After winning a bunch of awards for A Star Is Born, she had high expectations for the year," says a suspicious source, "but instead, she's experienced one disappointment after another. It's been an extremely difficult period for Gaga."
The magazine goes on to say that Gaga and Cooper started dating following their respective splits from Christian Carino and Irina Shayk earlier this year, but the actor got cold feet as their relationship turned more serious. "He couldn't make up his mind about what he wanted," says the questionable tipster. "Everyone's talking about how he basically strung Gaga along. The emotional roller coaster caused a lot of tears."
From there, the tabloid notes that Gaga began dating audio engineer Dan Horton over the summer, but the heartbreak only intensified when their relationship ended last month. The only truthful aspect of this entire article is that the singer briefly dated her sound engineer. Everything else is pure fiction.
As Gossip Cop has stressed countless times, Gaga and Cooper have never been romantically involved. Those rumors gained traction because the co-stars formed a close bond while making A Star Is Born, but their relationship has always been platonic. In fact, Gaga was interview by Oprah Winfrey for Elle magazine this past week, and she called the dating rumors "silly." The singer specifically spoke about their intimate performance at the Oscars, and noted, "We made a love story. For me, as a performer and as an actress, of course we wanted people to believe that we were in love."
In that same interview, Gaga opened up about overcoming mental health issues and learning to get past trauma through therapy. The singer, who's currently performing a Las Vegas residency, also noted that she's in a great place and has learned to heal through helping others and asking for help herself. Simply put, Gaga isn't experiencing the "worst year of her life," despite the tabloid's baseless claims.
It should be noted, Life & Style kicked off this saga in November 2018 when the magazine wrongly insisted Cooper and Gaga had fallen in love with each other. Both stars were still in relationships at the time. As recently as September, Gossip Cop busted the outlet for falsely claiming Cooper almost bought Gaga an engagement ring before ending their so-called "romance." The tabloid has never had any insight into the relationship between the close pals and collaborators.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
