One of the tabloids claims Lady Gaga wants to date a guy who's similar to A Star Is Born co-star Bradley Cooper. The story is completely made-up. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk it.
"Gaga Looking For Love" reads a headline in the latest issue of OK! The accompanying article says the singer is on the hunt for a boyfriend, but wants to find a man who will let her run her own life. "Gaga realizes she tends to outshine her partners, so she wants someone who isn't threatened by her success," a supposed source tells the magazine.
The alleged insider goes on to say that Gaga's ideal guy is Cooper, but since he's in a committed relationship with model Irina Shayk, she's looking "for the next best thing." The seemingly phony tipster adds, "She's desperate to find a man who makes her feel the kind of magic she felt with Bradley."
It's worth immediately noting, Gossip Cop busted OK! in March for falsely claiming Gaga and Cooper were getting engaged and moving in together. The magazine further alleged that the actor was dumping his girlfriend, with whom he shares a 2-year-old daughter, and gearing up to "go public" with Gaga. There was clearly no truth to the report, which was printed on the cover of the magazine just two months ago.
Now that it's become clear that Cooper and Shayk are still together, the untrustworthy outlet is ignoring its original storyline in favor of one about Gaga looking for a man "like" the actor. This latest narrative, though less over-the-top, is similarly untrue. Gossip Cop checked in with the singer's spokesperson, who tells us on the record that the outlet's article is fabricated. Gaga's rep, who's qualified to speak on her behalf, assures us she isn't searching for a boyfriend reminiscent of her co-star.
Gossip Cop also recently called out OK!'s sister outlet, Star, for making up a story about Gaga being torn between Cooper and Jeremy Renner. The singer was never in a romance with either actor. Naturally, this latest report makes no mention of that imaginary love triangle.
Shortly before that, the same magazine speculated how Gaga might be pregnant with Cooper's baby. The singer wasn't expecting anyone's child, let alone one belonging to her platonic friend and co-star. The tabloids have mostly given up on linking the A Star Is Born co-stars now that awards season has ended and they've spent less time together. OK! is trying to get back in the game by insisting Gaga is looking for someone who reminds her of Cooper. The premise is simply made-up.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
