HollywoodLife is lying when it claims it "exclusively" learned the "truth" about whether Kylie Jenner is pregnant. She is indeed expecting, as Gossip Cop has reported since September, but depending on the day, depending on the story, or even within the same story, the webloid keeps flip-flopping. Gossip Cop can expose what's going on.
Ever since it was revealed Jenner is pregnant with her first child, the site has alternately questioned whether she's really expecting and claimed to have "exclusives" on how the pregnancy is going. Oftentimes, in the course of a single article, the outlet will say the reality star is only "reportedly" or "allegedly" pregnant, but purport to have a "source" or an "insider" giving "exclusive details" about the mom-to-be. (Gossip Cop has rounded up some examples in the screengrab below.) HollywoodLies, as it's nicknamed, doesn't seem to realize the conundrum: If the online publication really had actual "sources" and "insiders," it would know for sure Jenner is pregnant and would not keep needing to use cautionary phrases like "repeatedly" and "allegedly."
This issue, which proves the blog is being untruthful with its supposed scoops, came up again this week. On Tuesday, the webloid blared in a headline, "Kylie Jenner's Caught Buying Tampons & Everyone's Questioning Her Pregnancy For Real." The article was based on a Snapchat photo of Jenner's convenience store purchases, which seemed to include feminine products. The site then used that picture to express doubt over whether she's actually pregnant, and asserted there was a "mystery" surrounding the "reported pregnancy" with "an alleged baby girl." "In true Kardashian/Jenner form, they are keeping us guessing," the outlet wrote, asking readers, "Do you think Kylie is pregnant?"
But before this, the publication ran more than a dozen stories in which it claimed to have inside knowledge about the pregnancy. If that were actually the case, HollywoodLies would've immediately known not to read into the tampons photo. The flip-flop came on Wednesday, with a new piece titled, "Is Kylie Jenner Really Pregnant? The Truth Behind Those Tampons Is Finally Revealed." Now the blog maintained it had a "source" supposedly explaining, "Kylie's very aware that everyone is dying for her to reveal her bump and talk about her pregnancy. She's loving the attention of everyone wondering about her pregnancy, she's having fun teasing people."
In response to those assertions, the webloid exclaimed, "Way to go, Kylie. You've officially played us all." But that statement, and a subsequent one, only further exposes HollywoodLies as, well, liars. If the webloid truly had "sources" and "insiders" for its previous pregnancy exclusives, it shouldn't have been "played" and taken in by the tampons photo. What's more is that even though the supposed "source" who was quoted throughout made it clear Jenner's expecting, the site actually went on to write, "Time will tell if the model is definitively with child or not." Um, what?!
HollywoodLies is simultaneously claiming to have a "source" talking about Jenner's pregnancy and, at the same time, asserting that only "time will tell" if she's "definitively" pregnant. It's almost as if the outlet wants readers to know it's completely full of it. And Gossip Cop expects this behavior to continue in the coming months, with the publication indicating that it's not actually in-the-know at all, despite how many fake "exclusives" it publishes. We'll continue to track the made-up stories as necessary.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
