Kylie Jenner and Khloe Kardashian may be having food cravings during their pregnancies, but no one is giving an “exclusive” on the subject to HollywoodLife. Gossip Cop has confirmed the webloid is once again peddling fake news just to capitalize on a hot topic. What’s more is that, in the story, the site actually exposes itself as fakers.
The piece in question is headlined, “Kylie Jenner & Khloe Kardashian Share Odd Pregnancy Cravings: Peanut Butter, Pickles & More,” and it begins with the outlet saying Jenner and Kardashian are “reportedly pregnant.” The publication then writes that “Ky is allegedly having a girl and Khloe is reportedly carrying a boy.” By using the phrases “reportedly” and “allegedly,” aptly nicknamed HollywoodLies is making it clear that it doesn’t have first-hand knowledge that the sisters are indeed pregnant and what genders their babies are.
So, if that’s the case, how did the blog learn “exclusively” that the siblings are “sharing cravings”? The webloid cites a “source close to the Kardashians,” who supposedly “exclusively” told the site that the “siblings are both dealing with some intense cravings.” But if this purported “insider” actually existed, wouldn’t the outlet be able to confirm the pregnancies and the babies’ genders instead of having to resort to “reportedly” and “allegedly”? It makes zero sense that HollywoodLies is claiming to know about the sisters’ cravings while at the same time indicating that it doesn’t really know for sure whether Jenner and Kardashian are actually pregnant.
What does this seemingly fake “source” have to say, anyway? In completely unnatural language, the almost assuredly nonexistent tipster is quoted as saying, “Pregnant sisters Khloe and Kylie are sharing some odd similar food cravings during their pregnancies.” The likely fictional “insider” then contends, “Kylie got together with Khloe recently and they were both shocked to learn that they are both really into the same foods while expecting. Most everyone can relate to craving pizza and ice cream, which Kylie and Khloe can’t seem to get enough of lately, but oddly they are also both really into peanut butter and pickles too.”
Have HollywoodLies and its “source” never been around pregnant women before? Peanut butter and pickles are two foods that are actually pretty common cravings for pregnant women. Yet this supposed “insider” maintains that Kardashian and Jenner believe the “the only explanation” for their “shared cravings” is “that the pregnancy has brought them totally in sync” as siblings. No, the explanation is the body wanting Vitamin B and protein (from foods like peanut butter) and craving sodium (in items such as pickles). These specific desires apply to most pregnant women, not simply ones who happen to be half-sisters.
So HollywoodLies wants readers to believe it has an “exclusive” about the expectant stars’ “odd pregnancy cravings” when there’s nothing odd about them at all. At the same time, the outlet is indicating that it’s not actually in-the-know by using telltale phrases like “Kylie is reportedly pregnant with boyfriend Travis Scott’s baby.” A publication that is unsure whether someone is actually pregnant is not getting a scoop on that person’s cravings. This fake news was only manufactured, and shoddily so, to exploit all the interest right now in Jenner and Kardashian’s pregnancies.
By the way this and other similar pieces are actually written prove the webloid knows next to nothing at all. It should come as no surprise then that Gossip Cop is told by our own trusty Kardashian contact that no one shared any pregnancy information whatsoever with HollywoodLies.
Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
