Are Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson reteaming for an "edgy" movie? That was the claim from one of the celebrity magazine's exactly one year ago today. At the time, Gossip Cop reported the story was 100 percent untrue, and 12 months later it's still false.
On January 24, 2018, OK! maintained the Twilight stars and former couple were going to get back together professionally to make a film. The tabloid alleged it had a "source" who shared that while Stewart was "hesitant" to work with Pattinson again because of the "fan hysteria" following their very public breakup, she and her ex "agreed" to talk about doing an "edgy project." One provision, asserted the supposed tipster, was that while their characters would have "close encounters" in the movie, they wouldn't play lovers.
As Gossip Cop noted 365 days ago, even though the tabloid swore up and down Stewart and Pattinson were in talks to reteam for a movie, it glaringly had absolutely no details about it. There were no other specifics such as whether it was a murder mystery or thriller, who their co-stars might be, or if there was a director attached it. Also, no trade magazines that cover the film business have written anything about them starring together in an upcoming movie.
Additionally, a year ago Gossip Cop reached out to both the actors' camps, and no one could confirm the outlet's report about Pattinson and Stewart planning to do a new movie together. In the intervening year, however, Stewart filmed the Charlie's Angel reboot and Against All Enemies in which she plays actress Jean Seberg. And Stewart is in talks to star in the sex-sex couple comedy Happiest Season.
For his part, Pattinson shot a number of movies, including The Lighthouse, The King, and Waiting For The Barbarians. Of course, none of those projects involved Stewart, nor do any of the others he has slated over the next two years. The premise of the tabloid's tale about him and Stewart reteaming was wrong then, and it remain inaccurate to this day.
Since that phony piece, OK! went on to publish a number of other bogus reports about the two stars, including falsely contending Pattinson and Stewart were getting back together because "there's still chemistry there." Not only was that off-base, but so too was the tabloid's story that insisted Stewart wanted to start a romance with Cate Blanchett. It was also wrong about the actor's love life, having mistakenly claimed Pattinson was dating Sienna Miller. As Gossip Cop has previously stated, we occasionally revisit articles from a year before to help readers assess which outlets are and aren't reliable, and clearly that magazine's track record with Pattinson and Stewart has been pretty poor.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
