Kris Jenner is "terrified" Ryan Seacrest is "done" producing "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" due to his new co-host gig on "Live," according to reports claiming the momager is feeling "betrayed." Gossip Cop can reveal the truth.
As Gossip Cop reported, it was announced on Monday that Seacrest is Kelly Ripa's new co-host on "Live." Because the ABC talk show films in New York, the TV personality and radio host plans to spend his weekdays on the East Coast. On most weekends, he'll return to Los Angeles, where his production company is based. Despite taking on the new job, Seacrest is still keeping all of his others.
But RadarOnline has published two stories implying Seacrest may quit producing "KUWTK," infuriating and worrying Jenner. In the first piece, posted on Tuesday, the site alleges the Kardashian-Jenner matriarch is "terrified" Seacrest's new gig "spells the end for her famous family!" A so-called "source" claims to the webloid "Kris is scared" Seacrest is abandoning the reality show.
The second article, which just came out on Thursday, asserts the "momager's right-hand man has left her for 'Live!'" The online publication contends Jenner was "shocked" by the announcement earlier this week. Also in this report, a purported "family insider" maintains she's "hurt" and "betrayed" by Seacrest's decision to join the talk show. Yet the outlet's supposed snitch actually acknowledges he's not "quitting" the reality series, and will still be a producer on it.
So... why would Jenner be "terrified" Seacrest is "done" with the show? Why would she feel "hurt" and "betrayed" if he'll still be working on the E! program? Taken together, these stories don't make much sense. They also both distort what's actually going on. While the webloid wants readers to believe Seacrest is distancing himself from the family, the opposite is true.
He joined the clan just last week for an interview with Megyn Kelly that was tied to the 10th anniversary of "KUWTK," as Gossip Cop reported. Furthermore, he's executive producing Kylie Jenner's new reality show, "Life Of Kylie." And while he'll spend most of his time in New York now, he's fully capable of producing both series from afar. In fact, NBC's "Shades of Blue" is shot in New York, and Seacrest has produced its first two seasons while living in Los Angeles. And he'll continue to work on "Shades" going forward, just as he will the other shows he's producing.
Little to nothing is changing in that regard simply because Seacrest has now added a talk show to his plate. RadarOnline basically took real news (Seacrest is the new "Live" co-host) and built two fake news stories around it (Seacrest may be "done" with "KUWTK" and Jenner is upset). "No, not true," a rock-solid contact exclusively told Gossip Cop when asked about the suggestion Seacrest is cutting or minimizing his ties to the Kardashian-Jenner shows. Our insider notes, "Ryan serves as executive producer and Ryan Seacrest Productions remains unchanged in terms of its operations." The site's articles implying otherwise are misleading narratives that don't match, ahem, reality.
Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
