Is Kris Jenner planning Paris Hilton's wedding? A tabloid claims the famous momager is overseeing various aspects of the heiress' nuptials, including a TV deal. Gossip Cop, however, has learned the story is untrue.
"How Kris Will Make Millions From Paris' Big Day," reads a headline in the latest issue of Heat. The magazine contends, "Not content with cashing in on her six children's most intimate affairs," Jenner has "taken her money-making skills further afield and is now devoting herself full-time to giving Paris Hilton the wedding she's always dreamed of... a highly profitable one." It's alleged Jenner "stands to make a pretty penny from the proceeds."
A so-called "source" is quoted as saying, "Kris is really busy negotiating Paris and [her fiance Chris Zylka] a multi-million deal to televise the ceremony and celebrations, as well as dozens of endorsement deals for everything from the dress to the honeymoon... Kris obviously wants to get as much money as she can, because she's getting a huge cut." The magazine goes on to claim Jenner has her "dollar-glazed eyes fixed on ensuring Paris' big day is as lucrative as possible, without impinging on the Kardashian brand." And that may even mean "delaying" the nuptials.
"Ideally, Paris and Chris would be married already, but they haven't been able to, because Kris is still busy planning it all," alleges the untraceable tipster. The outlet's purported insider asserts Jenner is "making sure the wedding won't conflict with any deals she has with her own family," and maintains that at this point, "the wedding looks likely to happen in the next six months." Unsurprisingly, no specific date is given. "Nothing's been finalized yet, although [Kris is] very close," insists the untraceable "source."
It should be noted, in April the Daily Mail reported Hilton had set a November 11 wedding date, and that same month People confirmed with Hilton's own mom that she planned to tie the knot at the same Beverly Hills church where her parents were married. Shortly after, Hilton revealed that she had picked out her wedding dress. None of these details are mentioned in the tabloid's article.
And while Hilton said in June that she's open to having a televised wedding, at no point has Jenner been mentioned as being part of the preparations. To date, the only known connection is that Hilton has said she'll invite Kim Kardashian, and Kardashian has said she'd go to the wedding. Meanwhile, there is plenty of evidence that Jenner hasn't been "devoting herself full-time" to planning Hilton's nuptials. On the contrary, she remains largely focused on her own family and their careers.
Jenner ended the month of June by supporting Kardashian at an event for KKW Beauty. In July, Jenner met up with daughter Kourtney and her kids in Italy. Last week, Jenner had a girls night that involved Cardi B. And she's spent the past few days doing interviews promoting "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," including an appearance on the "Late Late Show with James Corden." There is nothing to indicate she's "really busy" planning Hilton's wedding, despite what the publication alleges.
A Hilton confidante, who declined to comment on the record, also tells Gossip Cop the claims are "not true." And while she and the Kardashian-Jenner matriarch are friendly (the above photo is from February), that's probably why the gossip media sometimes links them through made-up stories. Earlier this year, for example, after the aforementioned sighting, RadarOnline peddled a story contending Hilton was begging Jenner for a "KUWTK" contract. But there was no merit to that tale, and, as demonstrated here, there is no merit to this new one from Heat, either.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
