Did Kris Jenner confront Caitlyn Jenner over her book at a secret meeting? That's the claim from a certain webloid, which alleges the execs then struck a surprising deal. Here's what Gossip Cop has learned.
Alleged excerpts from Caitlyn's new memoir, The Secrets Of My Life, suggest Kris isn't given the most flattering depiction. Now RadarOnline claims Kris "confronted her ex" about the book, and even brought some reinforcements by having daughter Kim Kardashian accompany her. But, asserts the webloid, Kris "did not have a nuclear meltdown," because they all agreed to "turn the dramatic situation into a storyline" on "Keeping Up with the Kardashians."
A so-called "insider" tells the site that Kris, Caitlyn and Kim had a "secret meeting" to "strategize on what to do about all of this book drama." The supposed snitch contends that "Kris decided that instead of fighting Caitlyn over it, she wants to use it to her advantage." Specifically, it's alleged "she wants 'KUWTK' cameras to follow Caitlyn for the book signings, as well as her publicity tour to promote the book."
That way, Kris will get "revenge" on Caitlyn by profiting off the attention surrounding the "explosive" book, maintains the outlet. But Gossip Cop spoke to sources close to the family who were not aware of any such meeting taking place. It's probable the book's impact will be shown to some degree on the clan's reality show, much like how the fallout from Jenner's coming-out Vanity Fair cover story was captured, but it's not being handled as RadarOnline claims.
"'KUWTK' cameras will not be on tour with her," Caitlyn's rep exclusively tells Gossip Cop. The transgender star has a number of appearances lined up, but a crew from "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" will not be going with her. It's also odd the site is claiming Kris was upset about the book and "confronted" her former spouse, considering the blog claimed last fall that Kris was going to serve as Caitlyn's manager.
If that was true, Kris obviously would've known in advance what was in Caitlyn's book, and wouldn't have needed a last-minute meeting now to figure out how to capitalize on the memoir for "KUWTK." But the webloid wasn't telling the truth back then, as Gossip Cop rightly said at the time, and still isn't now with this new tale.
Gossip Cop cannot come to a verdict either way.
