Kourtney Kardashian is going to rehab, according to a made-up tabloid story. Gossip Cop can bust the phony report. Though Kardashian sees a therapist, as she's discussed on "Keeping up with the Kardashians," she is not seeking in-patient treatment.
But the latest edition of NW features the headline, "Kourt's Rush To Rehab: "I Need To Get Help." According to the magazine, Kardashian is "struggling to cope as her world crumbles around her." The outlet references Kardashian's split from Younes Bendjima, her fights with Kim and Khloe, and her upcoming 40th birthday before asserting, "It's all become a bit too much for poor Kourt." To that end, it's alleged she is "feeling so low she's pre-emptively checking herself into a rehab retreat before she suffers a complete Yeezy-style breakdown."
"She's carting herself off to a luxury treatment center in L.A. She refuses to call it 'rehab,' but that's what it is," a so-called "source" is quoted as saying. This untraceable tipster continues, "She needs a little 'me' time" to "recollect herself and work out her problems." The publication's purported snitch maintains, "She's under a lot of pressure — to be the perfect mum and big sister, and to keep her figure in shape. Everything is collapsing on her at once. Anyone would crack."
And the "straw that broke the camel's back" is said to be the breakup with Bendjima. "She's hurting and humiliated," claims the "source," who further contends that in the wake of the split, "She's withdrawn from everyone around her." An equally anonymous "insider" alleges, "There's concern that Kourtney's going off the rails and her loved ones are begging her to get help... to take a break and breathe."
The tabloid is clearly unaware that, as opposed to "withdrawing" from those around her and desperately needing a "break," Kardashian just took a girls trip to Mexico late last month. And contrary to the magazine's insistence that she's "depressed," Kardashian is actually "in a good mind space," Us Weekly reported in a story earlier this week about how she's "better off" without Bendjima. It was stressed, "She's in a happy place and her sole focus is the kids."
And in a piece a few days ago about where Kardashian stands with Scott Disick, E! Online reported she "looked really happy" on the aforementioned vacation, where she and her pals were able to "enjoy 'girls time' together with no kids." The mom of three was further described as "newly single and loving it." It should also be noted that although Kardashian has cried on recent episodes of "KUWTK," and was even seen going to group therapy with her sisters, this footage was shot last year.
There is no current indication that Kardashian is suffering to the point of needing to go to rehab. And if it ever did reach such a point, no "sources" and "insiders" close to her would be discussing such private matters with a tabloid like this. Gossip Cop also pointed this out more than a year ago, when OK! falsely claimed Kardashian was "headed for a breakdown."
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
