A certain website known for making-up stories about top celebrities and hot topics is claiming Kourtney Kardashian is "dreaming of marrying" Younes Bendjima in the wake of Justin Bieber's engagement. Gossip Cop can bust this story. It is totally phony.
The news of Bieber's engagement and Ariana Grande's engagement have dominated the gossip media in recent weeks. After Pete Davidson proposed to the singer, HollywoodLife made-up a story about how Kylie Jenner was "inspired" by Grande's engagement and wanted her own boyfriend, Travis Scott, to "pop the question." This was neither accurate nor legitimate. The blog simply wanted to capitalize on all the interest in Grande's engagement by roping in another big star.
Now the site is following that template and has manufactured a similar piece about Bieber, Hailey Baldwin, Kardashian and Bendjima. According to this new article, Kardashian has "felt so 'inspired' by JB's whirlwind romance that she's got weddings on the brain." A so-called "source close to the famous family" is quoted as saying, "His relationship with Hailey and how peaceful and stable it is reminds Kourtney a lot of her and Younes. Now that Justin is marrying Hailey it's got Kourtney dreaming of marrying Younes."
These claims are rather preposterous. Bieber is 24 years old and has no kids. Kardashian is 39 and has three children. The notion that his relationship with Baldwin "reminds" her of hers with Bendjima is laughable. The claim that she is "inspired" to get married now that the younger performer is planning to tie the knot is ridiculous when you consider that Bieber only has to worry about himself while Kardashian has the well-being of three young kids to keep in mind.
Perhaps because the outlet knows that it is absurd to contend Kardashian is thinking of walking down the aisle just because Bieber is, it starts to back away from this premise as the story goes on. "It's still just an idea for her. Kourtney's not ready to take that step with [Bendjima]," maintains the almost assuredly fictional "source." What was the point of this article then?
The point was to exploit Bieber's engagement with a new angle, and the "KUWTK" star was purposefully chosen for this narrative because of their history together. The stars had an on-and-off fling in 2015 and 2016, but Bieber and Kardashian were done hooking up, apparently for good, by early 2017. There was nothing remotely serious about their dynamic, making it all the more ludicrous to suggest Kardashian is now "inspired" by him.
And, as seen in the screengrab below, HollywoodLies, as the website is nicknamed for its tendency to make-up stories, also tried this storyline with Sofia Richie, with whom Bieber was briefly involved a few years ago. The blog's modus operandi is transparent: Take whatever is in the news, and concoct a related story for traffic. That is, after all, what the outlet did last year when it purported to know Bieber's reaction to Kardashian's relationship with Bendjima.
What's also apparent is that the site doesn't really have inside knowledge on these celebrities, which is why it flip-flopped last fall on Kardashian being pregnant. HollywoodLies pretends to be knowledgeable for the sake of clicks, but it is quite obviously anything but.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
