Kit Harington and Rose Leslie are not headed for a split following the actor's recent stint in rehab, despite a false report. Gossip Cop can debunk the story. The Game of Thrones co-stars and spouses aren't having marriage problems.
According to NW, Harington and Leslie have been struggling ever since the actor entered rehab in May to deal with stress and other personal issues. "Rose didn't like the arrogant person he'd become," an anonymous source tells the magazine. "She hoped once the show ended, things would improve, but they didn't."
The tabloid further alleges that Leslie's recent trip to India with fellow Game of Thrones co-star Emilia Clarke was a result of her struggles with Harington. Pointing to Clarke's February breakup with Charlie McDowell, the "insider" says both actresses "were on a mission to forget about their messy love lives and have some fun." The supposed tipster adds, "Rose has been pretty down about the state of her marriage, but Emilia insisted this was the perfect way to relax."
Gossip Cop ran the story by Harington's spokesperson, who tells us in no uncertain terms that there's "no truth" it. The actor's rep, who's qualified to speak on his behalf, assures us he and Leslie "are very much happily married." The actress has supported her husband throughout his recent struggles, and the claim otherwise is simply unfounded.
It should be noted, one of the reasons Harington checked into rehab is because he was overstressed by his "overwhelming success" and fame. A main motivation for going to the wellness facility was because the actor was uncomfortable being in the spotlight. Therefore, it's highly unlikely Leslie thought her husband was becoming "arrogant" and developing a big ego. This also isn't the first time the tabloids have tried to capitalize on Harington's recent mental health issues.
In July, just a few weeks after the Game of Thrones star checked out of rehab, Woman's Day falsely claimed Harington was fighting to save his marriage. As Gossip Cop noted at the time, Harington and Leslie celebrated their first wedding anniversary immediately after he returned home to London. People magazine, a much more reliable source for celebrity news than NW, reported, "The two are enjoying the summer, spending time with family and friends... Kit and Rose seem happy."
Additionally, the gossip media was making up false stories about the couple's marriage well before he went to rehab. In August 2018, OK! wrongly reported Harington and Leslie were on the rocks over Game of Thrones ending. The HBO series ended four months ago and the couple remains happily together. Harington's brief stint in rehab hasn't changed matters.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
