Did Kim Kardashian really hire a team of 12 people to tweak and edit her selfies so that they look perfect? That's the ridiculous claim in one of the new tabloids. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this nonsense.
According to the UK tabloid Heat, the reality star employs people to oversee her selfies and make sure they're flattering before getting posted on social media. An alleged source tells the magazine that "it's impossible" for Kardashian "to be a mother and take 200 pics in an hour on her own," so she has the assistants snap the shots for her. Of course, these pictures would no longer be "selfies," but that point seems lost on the outlet.
Still, the supposed source further claims that once Kardashian's team has collected all of the photos, "they'll plow through them to decide which is the best one, ensure the lighting is ideal, edit it for details, and find the perfect caption." As the story goes, all 12 people live in a wing of the reality star's home so that they're on hand whenever she wants to take a photo.
The suspicious source adds, "They even have a special text tone for when Kim messages, which sounds like a fire alarm, and if it rings at 3am, the team has to head to wherever Kim is in her house, with lighting equipment, editing tools, a make-up and hair kit, and their best selfie game." However, we can confirm that this is all completely absurd.
In addition to no one else ever reporting a team being at the reality star's beck and call with lighting equipment and makeup for selfies, Gossip Cop still checked in with Kardashian's rep, who laughed off the tabloid's story before exclusively assuring us it's "false." The reality star hasn't hired a dozen people to live in her home and take her "selfies," despite the magazine preposterous claim otherwise. Unfortunately, OK! also posted this bogus article on its website without bothering to do any fact-checking.
This story seems to have been manufactured simply because Kardashian's Instagram page is filled with tons of artful photos, some of which appear to have been professionally shot. However, the reality star also posts plenty of selfies that she clearly took on her own and at the spur of the moment. Regardless, Kardashian doesn't have a major operation going on behind the scenes when it comes to sharing pictures on social media.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
