HollywoodLife claims to know Kim Kardashian’s “exclusive” reaction to Taylor Swift’s new music video for “Look What You Made Me Do,” but the report is entirely made-up. Gossip Cop can expose this phony story.
As Gossip Cop reported, the music video for Swift’s new video premiered during the 2017 MTV VMAs on Sunday night. When the song first dropped last week, many people believed the lyrics were an attack against Kardashian and Kanye West, and now some are speculating the video also mocks the reality star’s Paris robbery.
One scene shows Swift swimming in a bathtub of diamonds while singing the lyrics, “I don’t like your perfect crime / How you laugh when you lie / You said the gun was mine / Isn’t cool, no, I don’t like you.” Of course, Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in Paris last year. During the incident, the reality star was bound and tied inside a bathroom while thieves stole expensive jewelry, including a $4 million diamond ring.
Swift wasn’t actually poking fun at Kardashian’s frightening ordeal, as she was actually referencing her “Blank Space” music video. But HollywoodLife is still purporting to know how the reality star feels about the situation. A new headline on the site reads, “Kim Kardashian Furious Taylor Swift Mocked Her Robbery — ‘Almost Being Killed Is Not A Joke.'” The accompanying article quotes a supposed “source” as saying, “Kim is furious that Taylor took it there. What has gone on so far is one thing, but mocking her terrifying break-in is another. Kim had a gun pointed at her and she thought she was going to die that night.”
The outlet’s dubious insider continues, “Almost being killed is not a joke. It was real life, not part of some dumb pop star feud. Kim’s children almost lost their mother that night and Taylor is making fun of it… she’s taking it too far.” The alleged source further says Kardashian is “purposely ignoring Taylor, but behind closed doors she’s really upset.”
While Swift hasn’t personally commented on whether her music video was intended to mock Kardashian’s robbery, it is certain that HollywoodLife doesn’t actually have the reality star’s take on the situation. We’ve repeatedly been assured that no one in Kardashian’s trusted inner circle is in contact with the site, and that remains the case. Naturally, the reality star would be upset if the singer did in fact poke fun at her harrowing experience, but the untrustworthy webloid has no real insight into how she feels about the music video.
Remember, Gossip Cop already called out HollywoodLife for trying to capitalize on the release of “Look What You Made Me Do” by pretending to know Kardashian’s reaction to Swift’s song when it first hit. Now that the single’s music video has been unveiled, the unreliable site is at it again.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
