HollywoodLife is trying to capitalize on Taylor Swift‘s diss song and new album by pretending to know Kim Kardashian‘s reaction. But Gossip Cop is exclusively told by a rep that the webloid’s stories are “all false.”
As Gossip Cop has reported, HollywoodLies has made up a bunch of angles related to Swift’s upcoming album, Reputation, and new single, “Look What You Made Me Do.” To date, there’s been fabricated articles involving Selena Gomez, Tom Hiddleston, Beyonce and Kanye West. But what’s particularly notable about the two reports tied to Kardashian is that they contradict each other. The inconsistencies only prove what we’ve always said: The sources for these “exclusives” are either completely unreliable or entirely fictional.
On Thursday, the serial fabricators blared in a headline, “Kim Kardashian & Kanye West Fully Expecting To Be Attacked By Taylor Swift On ‘Reputation.'” In the accompanying story, the creative fiction writers claimed, “A source close to Kimye tells us EXCLUSIVELY they are preparing for ‘war!'” This supposed “Kardashian insider” was quoted as saying, “Kim and Kanye fully expect things with Taylor to get nasty and they want to be ready.”
“Kim’s called her mom and sisters and everyone on her team to get their advice on how to clap back. She knows the inevitable barrage on social media is going to be intense,” the site’s alleged tipster went on, adding, “Her and Kanye are both very stressed out about this, they feel like they’re preparing for war.” But on Friday, one day later, HollywoodLies published a different spin.
The second piece was titled, “Kim Kardashian: Why Taylor Swift’s Diss Track ‘Isn’t Really Bothering Her’ At All.” It began, “Kim Kardashian has been pretty riled up by drama with Taylor Swift in the past, but this time she’s shockingly calm!” Wait, what?! The first story insisted Kardashian was “very stressed out” and involving her whole family while “preparing for war.” Yet here a “source close to Kimye” was quoted as saying, “Kim really isn’t taking it very hard. She has been through sex tapes, family meltdowns, divorces, sex changes and so much more that a mediocre diss track isn’t really bothering her.” Interestingly, being held at gunpoint in a robbery was left off the manufactured list.
The outlet added, “Maybe this time last year Kim would have gotten really worked up, but her family has been through so much since then that a cat fight just doesn’t seem like that big of a deal anymore.” That is pretty much the exact opposite of what was claimed in the original post. Even the online publication’s own commentators highlighted the significant difference, and one actually noted, “HL will contradict itself later in what it writes about Kim’s reactions.” Another said, “As if Kim would ever tell them what she is thinking.” Ding ding ding!
HollywoodLies wants readers to not only believe that it has a “Kardashian insider” and a “Kimye source,” but also accept that these purported tipsters are saying two completely different things. The truth, of course, is much more straight-forward. The webloid crafted both stories only to exploit the interest in Swift’s song and her apparent feud with Kardashian and West. If it had actually had real access to the couple, the site wouldn’t be trying to play two contradictory angles. But as per usual, Gossip Cop is told Kardashian’s camp isn’t discussing this matter, or any other, with the outlet.
These stories about Kardashian and Swift are “all false” because they’re made up out of thin air, a rep for the reality star exclusively tells Gossip Cop. And, as previously reported, West’s rep told us he has no current plans to respond to Swift’s diss track, contrary to another “exclusive” from the publication. And this is exactly why the nickname HollywoodLies exists.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
