Kim Kardashian is not “desperate to replace” Kelly Ripa on “Live,” despite a report. Gossip Cop can explain what’s really going on.

On Friday, it was announced that Kardashian will guest co-host “Live with Kelly and Ryan” for one day later this month while Ripa is on vacation. She will join regular host Ryan Seacrest, and the timing coincides with publicity for the upcoming season of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.” Now on Monday, RadarOnline has taken that real news and twisted it into fake news by falsely announcing, “Kim Kardashian Desperate To Replace Kelly Ripa On ‘Live!’ — With Ryan Seacrest’s Support!”

In the accompanying article, the webloid alleges that in a “shocking twist,” Kardashian is “dying to make her hosting role permanent” and “BFF” Seacrest is “completely on board.” Asserts the site, “Kardashian is over the reality world, and now that ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ is winding down, she is looking to dive into hosting.” Actually, there’s no indication “KUWTK” is “winding down,” and this claim about the star being “over the reality world” contradicts another (wrong) story from last week, in which the outlet alleged Kardashian was pitching a new show called “Meet The Wests.”

What’s also notable is that this piece doesn’t feature any quotes to support the claims that Kardashian is “dying” and “desperate” to “replace” Ripa. The quotes are actually from Seacrest’s supposed perspective, with a purported snitch allegedly saying, “She has Ryan’s support… Ryan would love to get one of his friends to replace Kelly if she chooses to leave. He likes surrounding himself with people who adore him and are loyal to him.” Notably, this is also a contradiction.

Back in June, the online publication (falsely) claimed Seacrest was “planning to leave ‘Live,'” yet this new piece is all about locking down a permanent co-host for his post-Ripa future. Simply put, RadarOnline doesn’t know what it’s talking about, which is why it resorts to manufacturing untrue stories to capitalize on real news. The former was sparked by Seacrest’s negotiations to host the “American Idol” reboot, while the latter was spawned after the announcement that Kardashian would guest co-host for an episode. But Seacrest hosting “Idol” doesn’t mean he’s be leaving “Live,” and Kardashian co-hosting doesn’t mean she’s angling to join the program full-time.

Tellingly, this article also fails to mention a few important considerations if Kardashian actually were to be after such a gig. For instance, would she, Kanye West and their kids relocate to New York? How would she handle her other professional obligations? And why would Seacrest support making a controversial star with no prior full-time hosting experience his co-pilot on a morning talk show? Heck, the webloid doesn’t even mention that she already did a one-off in 2012 as a guest co-host WITH Ripa. Clearly, there’s a lot of red flags in this report, from top to bottom. But in case it wasn’t obvious enough, a rep for Kardashian exclusively tells Gossip Cop the claim that she’s trying to replace Ripa is “false.”
