Kim Kardashian is not hiring a “new team” to give her a “political image,” contrary to a report. Gossip Cop can exclusively set the record straight.

RadarOnline is wrongly blaring in a headline on Thursday, “Image Overhaul! Kim Hiring New Team To Seem More ‘Political.’” According to a so-called “insider” quoted by the repeatedly wrong webloid, “Kim is looking to hire a political publicist and Kanye is heading up the search.” As evidence that Kardashian is “ready to revamp her reputation,” the site quotes from her Harper’s Bazaar Arabia cover story, in which she told the magazine earlier this year, “Sometimes I feel like I want to speak out more about political issues. You have to be really careful about what you say, because a lot of things can be taken in the wrong context and I always want to be respectful; I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings.”

It is true the reality star has become more outspoken on some controversial issues, with Kardashian even telling Donald Trump in September to “stop tweeting” and help the people of hurricane-ravaged Puerto Rico. But there is no concerted effort to overhaul her brand by making her “more politically active.” It appears this false claim was concocted after recent additions Kardashian made to her staff.

Kardashian has multiple representatives and she recently enlisted the help of a beauty PR firm to help support KKW Beauty and her fragrance line, which just launched this week. That’s all that’s going on in terms of adding to her team. A rep tells Gossip Cop exclusively that the RadarOnline spin is “completely untrue,” noting, “There are no plans whatsoever to hire a ‘political publicist.'” In other words, there’s nothing to see here. But it seems the online publication prefers being sensational over truthful.
