Is Kim Kardashian only moving into her unfinished Hidden Hills mega-mansion because she’s “terrified” following a burglary at her Bel Air home? A tabloid claims she was forced to choose between whether to “live in fear or live in a construction zone.” But Gossip Cop has learned that’s not exactly what’s going on.

Star contends in its new issue, “After a recent burglary at her Bel Air pad, the unnerved reality star is decamping to the $20 million Hidden Hills ‘dump’ that Kanye West has been renovating for four years.” A so-called “snitch” is quoted as saying, “The backyard is all dug up [and] the whole property is a total disaster.” The magazine blames West, asserting that whenever the renovation “gets close to being done, Kanye will find a ‘flaw’ and start from scratch.”

“Kim’s had it. She’s moving in, even if it’s not close to being finished,” maintains the outlet’s supposed source. “Kanye will just have to deal with it and finally wrap it up. Kim wants to be closer to her mom and family, where she feels safe.” Adds the publication, “Let’s hope this location flip won’t be a flop!” But it’s actually this untrue story that’s a flop.

First off, there wasn’t actually a burglary at Kardashian’s Bel Air home. As Gossip Cop reported, a person attempted to burglarize cars that were parked outside the property. The suspect never actually made it to the residence and was scared off by security. The tabloid has presented a faulty premise by inaccurately representing what happened and falsely suggesting that’s the motivation for Kardashian’s move. In actuality, Gossip Cop is told by a contact close to the couple, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, she and West are really moving because they want to settle into their new home before welcoming their third child, whom they are expecting via surrogate.

They’re moving now simply because it’s what works best for their growing family, not because of a security incident. Furthermore, the magazine is also wrong about the state of their new mansion. It’s actually completely finished inside, which is another reason why they’re moving in. It’s now live-in ready. Star is focusing only on the exterior, which, as was reported this week, does need landscaping work. But unfinished grounds isn’t really the problem the outlet is trying to make it out to be.

It seems that after the recent news Kardashian and West sold their Bel Air home, the publication looked at aerial photos of the Hidden Hills property and jumped to conclusions about the condition of the home itself and made assumptions about why they were moving now. But this take is off-base. Not to mention, it comes from the same tabloid that twice alleged last year Kardashian and West were getting a $1 billion divorce. The magazine’s credibility on all things Kimye leaves a lot to be desired.
