Kim Kardashian has not put Kanye West on "marriage probation," despite a report from a webloid repeatedly caught spreading misinformation about the couple. Gossip Cop can debunk this new tall tale.
"Love Lockdown! Kim Puts Kanye On 'Marriage Probation' Before Baby No. 3," reads the headline of the latest "exclusive" from RadarOnline. According to the story, "The rapper has agreed to a six-month 'marriage probation' period to iron out all their issues!" Yet the site never explains what that means exactly.
Rather, a so-called "insider" is quoted as saying, "They've just never been the same since Kanye's breakdown and it's taken a lot of work to get them to this point." The supposed source further alleges "they're doing couple's therapy and making a big effort to reconnect." Actually, Gossip Cop has busted previous articles that wrongly claimed Kardashian and West were in marriage counseling.
Still, this "insider" goes on to claim, "They now have a romantic night together at least once a week," and also asserts, "Kim's stopped belittling and bitching at him and he's feeling more like the 'man' in the relationship again." The outlet's purported tipster adds, "They've got a long way to go, but they want to have their marriage rock solid" before welcoming a third child.
But just days ago, RadarOnline insisted Kardashian and West's marriage was "crumbling." In that piece, the webloid maintained she was "DONE keeping up with her troubled rapper husband" and had "enough." A "source" also supposedly told the site, "She really cannot take this anymore and she wants out." But here's this new story all about "making a big effort to reconnect" and going on "romantic nights." So, what's going on?
Well, the vast majority of the time, the online publication claims Kardashian and West are on the verge of divorce. But every now and then, the outlet swings in the opposite direction, saying the marriage has miraculous been saved. And then the split narrative starts all over again. The inconsistent stories are the product of two issues: One, the webloid is desperate to capitalize on search traffic related to Kardashian and West, who are perennially hot topics.
Second, the site has demonstrated again and again that it does not have reliable Kimye sources, and so it instead goes for whatever sensational angle will score clicks. That's how readers end up getting served dozens of breakup stories even though Kardashian and West made it to the three-year marriage milestone just a few months ago. While their relationship, of course, hasn't always been smooth sailing, Gossip Cop is told that the site's version of events is largely off-base. And this "marriage probation" claim is 100 percent "false," Kardashian's rep tells us exclusively.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
